Research & Development
Innovation Drives Progress in the Metals Industry
Retech’s Research & Development capabilities enable customers to explore new ideas and objectives alongside our experienced R&D staff. From pilot production and material development to process technology and toll melting, all services can be performed at our facility.

Equipment Development
Retech’s Research & Development team works closely with customers to advance equipment capabilities in step with evolving materials and market demands. We understand that system capacity, capability, and consistency must align with each customer’s unique business requirements.
Using our in-house equipment, Retech can support both the development of new systems and the production of finished material as a trusted supply chain partner. Our role is not to compete with our customers, but to solve the specialized challenges that standard solutions cannot address.
Alloy Development
Retech partners with companies across industries to advance new materials and applications. Many of these organizations require material innovation without the need or resources to invest in a dedicated melting system. Leveraging our suite of IR&D systems and state-of-the-art process controls, Retech provides this capability to individuals, small businesses, corporations, and research institutions alike.
Our alloy development expertise spans titanium, zirconium, cobalt, chromium, nickel-based superalloys, silicon-based materials, and other alloys requiring specialized or precision melting practices. If standard materials fall short of your performance requirements, Retech can help you explore advanced material solutions and guide your development toward finished products with superior results.
R&D Equipment Portfolio
PAM-5
Since 2012, the PAM-5 has a single 600 kW plasma torch as well as having vacuum induction and cold-wall induction capabilities. This system is primarily used for smaller volume R&D and toll melting endeavors and has a unique configuration used in the production of small diameter metal/alloy bars.
