Whether you are already at capacity on your equipment, don’t want to contaminate your current system, or have a demand that isn’t large enough to justify a new installation, Retech has installed a range of vacuum melting systems specifically for materials requiring special and/or precise melting practices like titanium, zirconium, cobalt, nickel-based & super-alloys as well as chromium and silicon based materials, with other alloys.

Ingot Casting
From single ingots or short runs for prototyping, small production orders, or larger programs, the Retech Research & Development team and available in-house equipment can satisfy those customer requirements for a range of common and specialty metals or alloys. Retech can enhance your company’s capacity by supplementing your production.
Toll Melting Portfolio

Plasma Arc Melting (PAM)
With 600 kW of plasma melting power, as well as vacuum induction and cold-wall induction capabilities, the installed Retech system can successfully be used for smaller volume R&D and toll melting endeavors as well as having a unique configuration used for the production of small diameter metal/alloy bars and powders.

Electron Beam (EB) Melting
In 2015, with the help of our sponsors, Retech installed a dedicated two-gun electron beam R&D system. The system has been configured to explore equipment and application development, alloy development and small-run, toll melting.

Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM)
Retech’s Laboratory scale Vacuum Induction Furnaces can handle a wide range of materials used in everything from automotive and consumer products to critical, high-value equiax, directionally solidified or single-crystal aerospace parts.

Melt Powder Atomizing
The Retech R&D Metal Atomization System utilizes our proven melting technologies in combination with gas atomization to produce powders that meet the specific needs of our customers. We endeavor to work with companies in determining the optimal methods of design and manufacture of all our equipment. Based on existing or new technologies, our goal is that satisfaction of customer needs.
